2021, Tahron Allen 6’3 Guard Crestwood Prep

Leaving a city like Brooklyn, New York that sits right in the mecca of basketball to then travel to Canada to commence a high basketball playing career should be a difficult decision.  Tahron Allen and his family thought otherwise.

Ball On My Mind recently caught up with incoming prospect class of 2021 Guard, Tahron Allen at Creswood Prep Academy (Toronto) to discuss his move from New York to Toronto.

Tahron has an awesome AAU summer as outlined by Made Hoops, playing with the Brooklyn Rens EYBL Team. Tahron who stands at 6’3 was a dominant forward showing his consistency in scoring and rebounding.

Making the move to Canada was an easy decision for Tahron and his family as quoted by Tahron “the environment, the diversity and I want to feel wanted” and this is the current situation that presented itself at Creswood. Tahron’s father Mr. Mike Allen first learned about the Creswood Prep opportunity through a long-time family friend Trey Dickerson who first introduced Mike to the iconic Canadian basketball coach Ro Russell. After the two had a few positive exchanges it was agreed that Allen’s would schedule a trip to Toronto to visit Creswood prep and for a tour of the city.

Tahron’s visit to Canada:

Tahron’s first trip to Canada with his mother and grandmother blew their expectations in terms of where Creswood was situated, their tours of the city and the multiple groups of people that they got to meet during their visit. The sports programs at Creswood, coupled with the many extracurricular activities, the learning environment and most importantly the basketball environment to maximize his career made the easy decision to commit to the Creswood program.

Tahron’s goal heading into the season is looking to be ranked as a top 10 player nationally.

We look forward to catching up with Tahron this season and providing more news on his development.
